Room Templates are assigned to each Room of a model and define the various inputs such as internal loads and air flows. To provide optimum ease of use and flexibility there are three types of Room Templates available. For full details on Room Templates please refer to this help article.

These are the defaults available to all users on the platform. They are based on the ASHRAE Standard 90.1 User Manual and are meant to be industry standard templates. Default Room Templates can be found in drawing.tool noted by the suffix - Default. On the Rooms page all default Room Templates are found in a dedicated section of the catalog.

These are all the Room Templates that are currently part of the Project. These are the customized Templates that are used in all calculations. Projects Level Templates can be found in the Project Templates panel on the Rooms page. They are created when any template is copied from the Room Template Catalog into the Project. They are also created when first exporting from drawing.tool into loadmodeling.tool. Each Default Room Template assigned will be converted into a Project Level so that they can be customized as required. In drawing.tool Project Level Room Templates are noted by the suffix - Project Level.

These are all the Room Templates that are created to store room level unique inputs that are assigned in Ventilation Calculation Tool. Each time a room level input is edited such as the number of people, a Custom Room Template will be created to store that information. This is done to prevent data lost that can occur if rooms are deleted from the model. Custom Room Templates allow for the projects to restore data by re-assigning to rooms if they are inadvertently deleted from the model. Custom Room Templates are noted in drawing.tool by a suffix that includes the room name and number.

Note: Rooms that are assigned to Custom Room Templates cannot be re-assigned to a new Template in drawing.tool, these can be edited only on the Room Templates Page.
