The Cove educational license program is no longer being offered. New licenses are unavailable as of October 1, 2025, and active licenses will remain accessible until December 31, 2025. After that date, access to the academic program (including analysis.tool, drawing.tool, loadmodeling.tool and Vitras.ai) will end.

This decision reflects broader challenges facing the architecture profession. Following the wholesale collapse of sustainability initiatives under the current US administration, we've seen architectural firms pull back significantly on sustainability investments—effectively undoing 30 years of progress in the profession. Since our paid corporate accounts have historically supported the free student licenses, this macro-level retreat has directly impacted our ability to maintain the educational program. This is an industry-wide issue beyond any single company's control, driven by shifting policy priorities and reduced commitment to climate action at the federal level.

Despite these headwinds, we remain deeply committed to fighting climate change through data-driven design. We've channeled our efforts into building an AI-powered architecture firm that leverages data, simulation, and best practices to create high-performance buildings. This work continues our mission of advancing sustainable design, even as we're forced to sunset the educational program.

We know this program has been an important resource for many professors and students, and we're grateful for the role it has played in classrooms and studios around the world. While this chapter is closing, we remain committed to supporting the next generation of architects and educators as the profession continues to evolve.
