The Oregon Zero Energy Ready Commercial Code is developed by the building codes division for the state of Oregon. The Oregon Structural Specialty Code classifies the building types as follows:
Assembly: Groups A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4 and A-5.
Business: Group B.
Educational: Group E.
Factory and Industrial: Groups F-1 and F-2.
High Hazard: Groups H-1, H-2, H-3, H-4 and H-5.
Institutional: Groups I-1, I-2, I-3 and I-4.
Mercantile: Group M.
Residential: Groups R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4.
Storage: Groups S-1, S-2 and S-3.
Utility and Miscellaneous: Group U
The Oregon Zero Energy Ready Commercial Code consists of 2 parts as follows:
// Part I - Commercial Energy Provisions
Part I applies to buildings constructed under the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) that are not Group R-2, R-3, or R-4 buildings three stories and fewer above the finished grade. The Construction standards are based on ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2016.
// Part II - Multi-family Energy Provisions
Part II applies to Group R-2, R-3, and R-4 buildings three stories and fewer above the finished grade designed and constructed under the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC). The construction standards are based on the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code which is equivalent to ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2016.
analysis.tool loads the prescriptive values for engineering inputs when the location and the energy code version is selected. Make sure the code version is set to ASHRAE 90.1 2016/ IECC 2018 in analysis.tool when the proposed project follows 2019 Oregon Zero Energy Ready Commercial Code.
