You can now import room data from your Revit model directly into drawing.tool.

Currently the Room's Name and Number parameter can be sent from Revit into your analysis model. This helps by populating existing information from BIM into your building analysis model!

Typically every Revit model will have a series of views showing the rooms with the name and numbers displayed via tags. Check these views in your model to see the information that will be imported.

Steps to import Room Data

  1. Export your Revit model using the Revit cove.tool plugin as guided here.

  2. After successfully exporting the model geometry, click on Export Rooms to include Room names and numbers.

3. Back in drawing.tool, you will now find all the names and numbers automatically detected and assigned to each room.

If a room was not present in Revit and automated name and number will be assigned when the room is created in drawing.tool. To help identify these rooms that were not part of the Revit Import the tag and properties table will be highlighted orange. These Rooms can either be modified, or continue modeling with the auto assigned information.
