Energy recovery is the process of exchanging the energy contained in normally exhausted building air and using it to treat the incoming outdoor ventilation air in residential and commercial HVAC systems. During the energy recovery process the heat and moisture both are transferred between incoming and outgoing air streams ultimately saving money on heating and cooling costs.

To model energy recovery in cove.tool switch the 'Heat Recovery System' tab to 'Sensible or Enthalpy Wheels'. The 'Heat Recovery System' tab can be accessed via 'Baseline Energy' > 'Building System' > 'Heat Recovery System'.
