Parametric denotes a process in which equations derived from parameters, variables, and rules coordinate to produce a system for generating solutions. Rather than being a problem-to-answer formula, a parametric equation uses computational way-finding to derive a family of outcomes. Parametric computing is also used to define, encode, and clarify the relationship between solutions so that when it comes to the field of architecture the design objective is a thoughtful, well-informed, multi-objective design response.

Pro Tip: cove.tool automatically runs hundreds of parametric analysis to find the optimal combination for cost and energy targets.
