Before we begin, let's talk about the ownership of the custom Templates and Schedules. There are 2 types of ownership - Firm and Personal. When you save a Template/Schedule with the ownership being Firm, it can be accessed by anybody on your team when they use the loadmodeling.tool and when you save the ownership as Personal, it can only be accessed by you on other projects.

Custom Templates

Room Templates control the characteristic of enclosed spaces within a building. Read more about working with Room Templates here. The Room Template page contains four sections - Room Templates, Project Templates, Template Details and Room Assignment. Under Room Templates you will see Personal and Firm Templates that are saved for access on future projects. You will also see Default Templates that have many different Templates pre-populated for your use.

There are 2 ways to customize templates:

  • Select an existing template from Room Templates. You will see them under Project Templates. You can select different heating and cooling set-points, make changes to Air Flow rates and Internal loads under Template Details. Save that as a Template with the ownership being Firm or Personal to see it under Room Templates.

  • Click on the custom button under the Project Templates section, give your Template a Name (required), Description (required) and Energy Code (required) name. This Template will only be under the Project Templates section. To save it back to Room Templates, click on the save icon and select the ownership as either Firm or Personal.

Custom Schedules

Schedules control the characteristic of set-points, loads and schedules of the building. The Schedules page contains three sections - Schedule Library, Project Schedules and Schedule Details. Under Schedule Library you will see Personal and Firm Schedules that are saved for access on future projects. You will also see Default Schedules that have many different Schedules pre-populated for your use.

Similar to Templates, there are 2 ways to create customize Schedules;

  • Select an existing schedule from the Schedule Library. You will see them created under My Project Schedules. You can change the schedules for Winter Design Day, Summer Design Day, Default Days and Weekend Schedules under Schedule Details. Save that as a Schedule with the ownership being Firm or Personal to see it under Schedule Library.

  • Click on the custom button under My Project Schedules, give your Schedule a Name (required) and Select a Schedule Type (Lighting, People, Equipment, Temperature and Other). This Schedule will only be under the My Project Schedules section. To save it back to the Schedule Library, click on the save icon and select the ownership as either Firm or Personal.

    Tips

  • Use the Name and Description fields to provide clear, unique identification for your templates. The description can add even more details or information about the assumption that went into the schedule or template.
