For apartment and residential building types, if the user wishes to model the lights/appliances with an inverted schedule to the people to simulate the night operation, the following adjustment can be done:

  • Input the code prescribed or max. permissible value for LPD/Appliance Use in the unoccupied fields as shown below. This way the lighting/appliances will be switched off when occupants are sleeping.

  • Input the unoccupied LPD/Appliance Use in the occupied field to reflect the lower power use when occupants are present, but asleep.

To further approximate the unique interaction of occupants with and the lighting in a residences, the daylight and occupancy sensors can be switched to 'Sensors' to simulate occupants turning off lights when they are not home, or there is plenty of natural light.
